Pretty in pink

Pink has always been the generic colour for the female population, even since birth when they clothe baby girls in pink baby grows so that people don't get confused with their gender.  Although a popular colour choice, some women feel pink is too girly when in fact, used in the correct way, it can add a soft feminine touch to your ensemble.   The following examples give some ideas of how to use pink to compliment your outfits: Dusty pink  This soft hue is a lot more 'acceptable' than other shades of pink and most importantly, it looks good on all skin tones. This soft hue goes so well with lace.  Dress it down with denim for a daytime look Dusty pink works well with...

When casual becomes 'smart'

If we had the freedom to wear whatever we want on a daily basis, most of us would go for casual.  However, casual doesn't necessarily mean you can't look stylishly polished.  I personally love the casual smart look, it's the best way to mix and match clothes and have fun with it.  There are several ways to dress up a causal outfit.  Here are a few examples: How to dress up denim There are days when you simply want to put on a T-shirt and a pair of comfy jeans which requires zero effort.  If you wanted to achieve a more polished look, try finishing off with a pair of killer heels and a statement bag.  You would be surprised what...

Glittery spirit

A girl can never have enough sparklies.  I love my sparkly fashion items – they add glam and sophistication to my formal attire but are also fun to use for spicing up a day time outfit.  My personal favourite is to match these sliver glittery pumps with a white washed silver pleated skirt and a basic navy tee for a casual daytime look. Glittery feet = Happy feet I think navy goes really well with silver/grey.  It’s one of my favourite colour combinations.  Also quite a cool edgy way to dress for the festive season instead of going for the standard colours such as red and green. COS beaded necklace, Pull & Bear pleated skirt, Charles & Keith glittery pumps...

Stay golden

I have always loved all things metallic.  A lot of people have mentioned to me that they find it hard to wear metallics as they tend to make the outfit look too dressy.  However, there are ways of ‘dressing down’ a metallic combo, that is, with the right contrasting textures and colours.  Gold theme – Metallic jumper (Korean brand), a trusty pair of ripped jeans  (J brand), wardrobe staple leather bike jacket, super gold loafers (J Crew), matte gold backpack (Converse) and this season’s MASE Florence mini bag.  For Autumn/Winter season, gold is the easiest metallic choice since it goes well with the favourite winter colours which have a warmer tone.  I like going for the casual smart look when styling with...
